Today, 3/20, the server will be down for 10 minutes while I move the VHDs and guest OSs to the new SSD.

3/21 the server will be down 15 minutes for HDD installation and configuration.

One additional restart may be required resulting in less than 5 minutes of downtime.

I apologize for the extended outage this evening. A series of unfortunate cases linked up to nearly wipe out our little corner of the web.

Fortunately, leadership has provided the tools neccessary to take frequent backups. Within minutes, the VM was being rebuilt from a template. If I hadn't deleted the VNIC interface to begin with, the VM clone would've booted right back up without being any the wiser.

I still need to expand this servers storage capacity, so some downtime IS expected. But this time will go much more smooth.

The main issue is that our new disk came formatted exFAT, which is incapable of applying or even understanding NTFS access controls, which are crucial to Hyper-Vs operation.
